Bai He Gu Jin Wan - Dry Cough, Dry Throat Herbal Formula
Uses: Dry Cough, Sore/Dry Throat, Sensation of Heat in Hands, Nightsweats. Bai He Gu Jin Wan (Bai He Gu Jin Pian, Bai He Gu Jin Tang, Lily Bulb Formula, Lilium Teapills), translates in english as "Lily Bulb Formula to Preserve the Lungs." This formula aids those who have a TCM diagnosis of Lung and Kidney Yin Deficiency. Yin Deficiency indicates an inability of the body to properly nourish the organs with fluids, so heat and dryness will results. People with this condition will have a dry cough (possibly with blood-streaked sputum), sore and/or dry throat, heat in the "five palms" (hands, feet and/or chest), wheezing, nightsweats. Symptoms are generally of a chronic nature or at least often recurring. This pattern is very commonly seen in smokers, accordingly this formula is often used to help people recover their lung function after smoking cessation.*
Ingredients: Radix Rehmanniae Glutinosae (Di Huang), Tuber Ophiopogonis Japonici (Mai Men Dong), Bulbus Lilii Brownii (Bai He), Bulbus Fritillariae Cirrhosae (Fritillaria thunbergii) (Chuan Bei/Bei Mu), Radix Angelicae Sinensis (Dang Gui), Radix Paeoniae Lactiflorae (Bai Shao), Radix Scrophulariae Ningpoensis (Xuan Shen), Radix Platycodi Grandiflori (Jie Geng), Radix Glycyrrhizae Uralensis (Gan Cao).
Recommended Dosage: Take 5 to 7 pills or tablets 3 times a day. At full dose, one bottle renders a 10-day supply. Expect results within 2 to 6 weeks of daily use.
Caution: It is best to avoid alcohol, smoking and spicy foods while taking this formula. You should not use this formula if you have cough due to the common cold (i.e. you have a stuffy nose or excessive thick mucus/phlegm). Use with caution if you have digestive disorders.
