I have a patient with Takayasu's arteritis on steroids and methotrexate, can acupuncture be of any help?

Yes, but as with any case you must come to an appropriate diagnosis in TCM terms. Generally this will have an underlying autoimmune aspect - so possibly strong kidney yin signs, but may also be damp predominant condition as well. Proper TCM diagnosis is key.
