TMJ - diagnostic patterns?

Published on 02-23-2017

"anon53710" - this is their first post.

I have been searching the website for help with an essay but I can’t find specifics. Can someone help please?

I can’t find TCM diagnostic patterns to diagnose TMJ or what organs are mainly affected.

Please help!

You generally don’t use an individual symptom to drive the diagnosis - the diagnosis comes from the tongue, pulse, proper medical history questioning, etc. The basics of this are in our article treating the cause and not the symptoms and in our theory sites diagnostic section.

That said, a very common underlying diagnosis is liver qi stagnation. But you could have yin deficiency, liver fire, certain digestive patterns, just about anything.
