KD 27 Acupuncture Point Applications and Theory

The acupuncture point "KD 27" , 俞府, is represented by "Shufu" in pinyin and "Shu Mansion" in english and may be found:

In a depression on the lower border of the clavicle, 2 cun lateral to the CV line.

Of many possible clinical applications, it may be considered to influence the following issues/symptoms:

  • Opens & relaxes the chest - asthma, constricted breathing, cough, chest tightness.
  • Tonify KD Deficiency leading to adrenal exhaustion - fatique, lowered immunity.
  • Local point for neck a/or jaw issues - pain, tension

KD 27 has some precautions to be considered (see our precautions list).

No Deep Needling (NDN)
Needle obliquely.

A single acupuncture point is not commonly thought of as an empirical way to influence a TCM diagnostic pattern. KD27, however, is a strong candidate to be incorporated into an acupuncture protocol for patients who exhibit: Kidney Qi Deficiency

KD 27 may potentially be used, in coordination with a well designed acupuncture treatment protocol, to influence the following conditions: Asthma, Cough, Facial Pain, Fatigue, Immunity and/or Neck Pain

While not necessarily valid clinically, CV 21 ( Local point for chest issues - pain, cough, a…), EX Yi Ming (Sleep issues - insomnia, dream-disturbed sleep.Ey…), ST 11 (Local point - sore/swollen throat - counterflow q…), ST 12 (Shoulder pain (esp. that radiates to neck). Neck…) and ST 13 (Asthma, cough, wheezing, chest distention, hiccup…) are nearby.
