LI 14 Acupuncture Point Applications and Theory

The acupuncture point "LI 14" , 臂臑, is represented by "Bi Nao" in pinyin and "Upper Arm" in english and may be found:

On the radial side of the upper arm, 7 cun above LI 11 at the insertion of the deltoid muscle.


Of many possible clinical applications, it may be considered to influence the following issues/symptoms:

  • Local point for pain in the shoulder and upper arm.
  • Weakness in the upper arms
  • Benefits the eyes - redness, swelling, pain.
  • Scrofula  

LI 14 may potentially be used, in coordination with a well designed acupuncture treatment protocol, to influence the following conditions: Arm Pain, Eye Problems, Parkinson's Disease (PD) and/or Shoulder Pain
