PC 2 Acupuncture Point Applications and Theory

The acupuncture point "PC 2" , 天泉, is represented by "Tian Quan" in pinyin and "Celestial Spring" in english and may be found:

2 cun below the end of the anterior axillary fold between the two heads of the biceps brachii muscle.

Of many possible clinical applications, it may be considered to influence the following issues/symptoms:

  • Opens the chest and invigorates the blood - cardiac pain / angina, cough, localized pain in the chest / shoulder area.
  • Calms the spirit - palpitations.

PC 2 may potentially be used, in coordination with a well designed acupuncture treatment protocol, to influence the following conditions: Angina, Cough, Palpitations and/or Shoulder Pain

While not necessarily valid clinically, HT 1 (Regulate Qi flow from the torso to the arm and vi…), LU 3 (Window of the Sky Point, regulates head/body Qi f…) and LU 4 (Local Point. May be used for cough, shortness of…) are nearby.
