Needle diameter and length for any treatment is really up to the preference of the practitioner, the size of the patient, and each particular condition. You can just as easily treat shoulder conditions with the standard 34 gauge, 1" needle inserted just a few mm as you can with a 2 inch needle inserted more deeply. It’s really the practitioners preference rather than a set rule.
