Doubt regarding needling when a woman patient is in the period of menstruation

By Archived User | Updated: Dec 31, 2021 | Published: Dec 31, 2021

Dear sir/madam,

My acupuncture guide says that needling should be avoided when a women patient is in the period of menstruation. But I don't agree with him.

I have the following doubts.

1. If a woman patient is in the period of menstruation, can i give acupuncture treatment . Shall I needle her ?

Expecting your answer,
Yours faithfully,
Kulandaivelu.

Yes, you can needle her, but, the ways are different, basic on what kind of problem she has, for example, if she has spleen deficiency with bleeding alot, you should not use active blood points during the treatment, because it will cause bleeding or blood stasis at the points you needling, some patient also cause sensitive effective during period time of acupuncture. This is why most practitioner like do the treatment avoid period time.
