Duodenal ulcer possibility

My primary care physician is thinking of ordering me a EGD. IDK if an upper GI would tell him what he wants to know or not. Something less invasive is always welcome. I have some pain in my right side. I have been thinking liver and he thinks beginning of SI. The duodenum. Would this be phlegm related, or bad diet or lack of good one in TCM.
