Hello Scott,
Your post is really not appropriate for our forum so it has been removed. A better place would be on a massage board or something like reaching out to some of the massage schools in town to talk to their students/practitioners. All things considered Chattanooga will be as good as any town to start a practice. There will be education and it is a southern town which comes with all of the good and bad as far as open thinking, etc. I would suggest you talk to a person Tim Russell (you can google his name for massage in Chattanooga) - he’s been here a long time and does some more energetic work (craniosacral, etc.) which he does have to explain to people. He would have some good opinions. And if you want to contact me directly [email protected] I would be willing to at least explore the idea of having you work out of our center if you are truly interested in living here.
All that said, Chattanooga is no boulder or even an Asheville - it’s still in many ways a small southern town with many closed minded folks and back door dealings, etc. - all the small town stuff. It’s changing as people move here, but it has some progress still to make to match up with the natural surroundings. I moved here 10 years ago from Boston, but I’ve lived in AZ, CA, BC, CO, MI, MA and generally been around and I enjoy it, but there are things I miss from the west coast certainly and we are at least another 10 years away from developing some of those things here.
Cheers,
-Chad.
