LV 2 Acupuncture Point Applications and Theory

The acupuncture point "LV 2" , 行間, is represented by "Xing Jian" in pinyin and "Moving Between" in english and may be found:

On the dorsum of the foot between the 1st and 2nd toes, proximal to the margin of the web at the junction of the red and white skin.

Of many possible clinical applications, it may be considered to influence the following issues/symptoms:

  • Generally, clears LV Fire - extreme irritability, red face/eyes/tongue.
  • Clears Heat from the Lower Jiao - burning urination.
  • Useful for "true heat, false cold" - lack of Qi flow to the extremities (cold hands/feet).

Lv 2 has the following theoretical associations which serve as important guideposts in designing an effective treatment protocol:

While not necessarily valid clinically, SP 2 (Generally used to clear damp-heat - gout, painful…) and ST 44 (Ying Spring Point - Clears heat from the channel …) are nearby.
