Tai Chi Found Effective for Hypertension

exercise research

Tai Chi has been shown in numerous studies to offer a wide range of health benefits. In this study researchers explored the anti-hypertensive effects of Tai Chi via a meta-analysis.

The researchers found that among the 3223 middle-aged adults with prehypertension that after weekly tai chi sessions for a few months elicited "meaningful" reductions in blood pressure. Improvements were noted in both systolic and diastolic readings.

The researchers concluded that "such magnitude of BP reductions can lower the incidence of cardiovascular disease by up to 40%".
