How TCM Diagnoses Edema

By Archived User | Updated: Dec 31, 2021 | Published: Dec 31, 2021

I can deffinitely agree that having proper diagnosis would make treating edema much more effective. So, I would like to determine if edema is caused by heart, kideney or lymph/spleen malfunction using TCM principles. What are the most appropriate here: pulse, physiological symptom paterns of organ network/organ network relationships, or are there specific points that serve as organ pathology indicators for edema?

There are 4 patterns of edema, Yang edema: wind cold attack lung, dampness attack lung. Yin edema: spleen yang deficiency, and kidney yang deficiency.
