Gagging reflex

By Archived User | Updated: Dec 31, 2021 | Published: Dec 31, 2021

Hi, anybody can help me? I’ve got a leady for acupuncture and she was referred for the gagging reflex from her dentist. Never treated this before. Any idea?

Thank you. di.

Gagging is controlled by the vagus nerve and the glossopharyngeal nerve. To treat conditions of this nature we use both Tuina (before and after treatment) and needling particularly around the sky window area (SI 16, LI 17, LI 18), and (ST 10, 11, 12) area for the vagus nerve specifically.
