Is it possible to treat hypertension without drugs. The side effects of modern medication sometimes outweigh any benefit and some people are allergic to the medication which add to the problem.

Absolutely. That is commonly treated and in most cases resolved (i.e. no further treatment needed for months, years, or even longer) in Chinese Medicine. Generally speaking both acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine are most effective along with according diet and lifestyle modifications if necessary.
