The short answer is yes. The longer answer is that Chinese Medicine is far more concerned with your overall systemic health (i.e. why you have CKD, among other issues) and treatment will be targeted towards those deeper systemic issues primarily.
Without getting into a lengthier discussion (which is easier at a practitioner level), the following studies should be interesting to peruse. Note, I grabbed this more or less randomly so there may well be better exhibits out there. And further, due to the above stated reasons (i.e. treating the person as an individual, systemically, and tailoring treatments just to them) studies are somewhat hard to perform in the pure application of Chinese Medicine:
