Possibly, but the precipitating factors need to be explored in Chinese Medicine terms and then treatment would be tailored directly to you (not generically to “spontaneous pneumothorax”) - more on that is discussed in “treating the cause vs. the symptoms”.
Of course, removing other risk factors such as smoking, loud music/sound disturbances, any other lung issues would be a big part of the overall treatment. And except for the first two those would be explored by your practitioner. I would recommend you find an acupuncturist who also practices Chinese herbal medicine in your area and give them 3-5 months.
