Treatment for Shingles

By Archived User | Updated: Dec 31, 2021 | Published: Dec 31, 2021

What can you tell me abou the process for shingles? I've developed a very healthy crop of shingle lesions and am feeling desperate to make this GO AWAY. Reading the general process of of treatment mentioned putting needles around each lesion. Lucky me, they're basically grouped in one sensitive area, so just how much additional pain are we talking? I don't want to get graphic, unless needed, but basically, this is gross and painful and it's starting to interfere with my life.

Thanks for the feedback.

As you appear to already be aware we have a section on the treatment of shingles. Acupuncture is a very effective treatment for shingles, so I strongly recommend that you see someone in your area and consult directly with them. I'm not sure what you mean by "how much additional pain are we talking"? I'm guessing that you are talking about how much pain will the needles cause? If that is your question, the answer is none. Acupuncture does not hurt, even when you are treating painful, reactive conditions such as shingles. So I wouldn't worry.
