Treatment for Ulcerative Colitus

By Archived User | Updated: Dec 31, 2021 | Published: Dec 31, 2021

From past 20 years my wife is suffering from ulcerative colitus. she is having bloody stools, cramps and weakness due to blood loss.
Is there a way to treat such conditions in Chinese Medicines.

Thanks,
Sanjay

There is, but as with anything in Chinese Medicine, particularly with complex autoimmune based conditions you really need to consult with a practitioner locally who practices acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine and be prepared to work with them over a period of at least 4-6 months.

Our general section on ulcerative colitis can be found here - it contains some of the more common approaches, related research, etc.

You should not, however, just choose something from that page and decide to use it as a treatment option (see “What Does Acupuncture Treat” and "How To Choose A Formula for general info.
