Shen qu tea dregs

By Archived User | Updated: Dec 31, 2021 | Published: Dec 31, 2021

Hello,
Can someone please tell me if I am to drink the dregs from the shen qu tea? I bought a brick since I heard its good for indigestion. The lady said just to mix some with hot water, she didn’t say weather or not to eat the solid bits too.

Thank you,
M

Most likely no. There are many different mixtures, so only the woman in the herbal shop you got it would know what is in it. There are any number of herbs added into those teas and many you wouldn’t want to eat. Generally it would be used only as a tea, not to be digested in the whole form.

Thanks for the reply. The first time I had it I actually spooned a few dregs in my mouth - yuck. And then I thought to check if I was supposed to eat it. I couldn’t find any info on that part anywhere.

Cheers,
Martin
