Wei Yi Wang - diabetic food supplement

By Archived User | Updated: Dec 31, 2021 | Published: Dec 31, 2021

I bought a Chinese diabetic food supplement called Wei Yi Wang [Qiao Mai - Huang Qi] in Indonesia but could not find it anywhere else in Thailand. Would someone advise me if it has different name in Thailand?

The ingredients are: Fagopyrum sp, Astrogali Seu Hedysari Radix, Puerariae Radix, Ligustri Lucidi Fructus, Crataegi Fructus, Galla Chinensis.

Unless I’m mistaken that’s a name brand not a traditional Chinese formula name. So it may be that it either isn’t sold in Thailand or is illegal (some countries block certain herbs/formulas/products). You can, however, purchase it online via any number of suppliers particularly those from India.

A more standard formula which should be easier to find (and may or may not be appropriate for you - so see your practitioner) would be Jiang tang wan:
