Herbs That Stop Bleeding General Introduction
- Useful for uterine bleeding, excess menses, bleeding from trauma, vomiting of blood, nose bleeds, and blood in the urine.
Herbs That Stop Bleeding Section Summary / Study Notes
- Bai Ji, Xian He Cao, Zi Zhu - astringent, stop bleeding
- Bai Ji - strongest, then Xian He Cao, then Zi Zhu
- Di Yu, Ce Bai Ye - stop bleeding and cool blood.
- Di Yu - stronger astringent action and also relieves toxicity - for sores, ulcers, and burns.
- San Qi - bleeding secondary to blood stasis (i.e. trauma).
- Cold induced bleeding - Ai Ye.
- Heat induced bleeding - Ce Bai Ye, Huai Hua Mi, Da Ji, Qian Cao Gen.
- Blood stasis - Jiang Xiang, San Qi, Pu Huang.
- Nosebleed - Bai Mao Gen with Chao Zhi Zi (Charred Zhi Zi).
- Coughing and vomiting blood - Bai Ji, Qian Cao Gen, Ou Jie.
- Bloody stool - Pu Huang, Zi Zhu.
