KD 7 Acupuncture Point Applications and Theory
The acupuncture point "KD 7" , 復溜, is represented by "Fuliu" in pinyin and "Recover Flow" in english and may be found:
2 cun above KD 3 on the anterior border of the achilles tendon.
Of many possible clinical applications, it may be considered to influence the following issues/symptoms:
- Tonifies KD Yang, especially with respect to water regulation - sweating (too much or too little, spontaneous), swellings, urinary issues.
- Oedema, especially chronic effecting the abdomen a/or lower legs.
- Five types of Lin Disorder - resolve accumulation of damp a/or damp-heat.
- Diarrhea, abdominal distention, hemorrhoids, constipation.
- Low back pain from deficiency a/or stagnation.
- Main treatment point of Kidney Sho pattern (with LU 5 and LU 8) - in Japanese style Five Phase treatment protocol.

A single acupuncture point is not commonly thought of as an empirical way to influence a TCM diagnostic pattern. KD7, however, is a strong candidate to be incorporated into an acupuncture protocol for patients who exhibit: Kidney Yang Deficiency
KD 7 may potentially be used, in coordination with a well designed acupuncture treatment protocol, to influence the following conditions: Back Pain, Constipation, Diarrhea, Edema, Hemorrhoids, Sweat Problems and/or Urinary Disorders (Lin Disease)
While not necessarily valid clinically, GB 39 (Hui Meeting of the Marrow - excess or deficiency …), SP 6 (Tonify Yin and Blood, all Spleen disorders. Dige…) and UB 59 (Acute pain a/or spasm of the Bladder a/or Yang Qi…) are nearby.
