KD 24 Acupuncture Point Applications and Theory

The acupuncture point "KD 24" , 靈墟, is represented by "Lingxu" in pinyin and "Spirit Ruins" in english and may be found:

In the 3rd ICS 2 cun lateral to CV 18.

Of many possible clinical applications, it may be considered to influence the following issues/symptoms:

  • Local Point, generally useful for cough, chest tension, constricted breathing.
  • Breast distention - moves qi stagnation in the chest.
  • Palpitations, abdominal bloating, panic attacks arising from digestive issues.

KD 24 has some precautions to be considered (see our precautions list).

No Deep Needling (NDN)
Needle obliquely.

A single acupuncture point is not commonly thought of as an empirical way to influence a TCM diagnostic pattern. KD24, however, is a strong candidate to be incorporated into an acupuncture protocol for patients who exhibit: Lung Rebellious Qi and/or Stomach Rebellious Qi

KD 24 may potentially be used, in coordination with a well designed acupuncture treatment protocol, to influence the following conditions: Asthma, Breast Distention, Cough, Digestive Issues, Palpitations, Panic Attack and/or Wheezing (Dyspnea)

While not necessarily valid clinically, CV 18 ( Local point for chest issues - pain, cough, a…), SP 19 (Aids the descent of lung qi - cough. Regulate lu…) and ST 16 (Chest tightness a/or pain, asthma, cough. Breast…) are nearby.
