When a loose fist is made, at the ulnar end of the distal palmar crease proximal to the 5th metacarpal phalangeal joint at the junction of the red & white skin.
Of many possible clinical applications, it may be considered to influence the following issues/symptoms:
Si 3 has the following theoretical associations which serve as important guideposts in designing an effective treatment protocol:
Explore si 3 functional groupings theory - Extraordinary Master-Coupled and/or Five Shu, or read all point categories and related theory.
A single acupuncture point is not commonly thought of as an empirical way to influence a TCM diagnostic pattern. SI3, however, is a strong candidate to be incorporated into an acupuncture protocol for patients who exhibit: Heart Blood Stagnation and/or Liver Wind
SI 3 may potentially be used, in coordination with a well designed acupuncture treatment protocol, to influence the following conditions: Arm Pain, Ear Problems, Eye Problems, Headache, Neck Pain, Night Sweats (Sleep Hyperhidrosis), Shoulder Pain, Sore Throat, Tinnitus and/or Whiplash
While not necessarily valid clinically, HT 8 (HT Fire effecting the SI effecting the UB, heat d…) and TH 3 (Ear Problems of any etiology such as excess tinni…) are nearby.
