SI 15 Acupuncture Point Applications and Theory

The acupuncture point "SI 15" , 肩中俞, is represented by "Jian Zhong Shu" in pinyin and "Central Shoulder Shu" in english and may be found:

2 cun lateral to the spinous process of C7 (GV 14).

Of many possible clinical applications, it may be considered to influence the following issues/symptoms:

  • Asthma, cough, coughing up of blood (hemoptysis).
  • Local point for shoulder, neck and/or upper back pain.

SI 15 may potentially be used, in coordination with a well designed acupuncture treatment protocol, to influence the following conditions: Asthma, Cough, Neck Pain and/or Shoulder Pain

While not necessarily valid clinically, GB 21 (Local point for occipital headache, tight trapezi…), GV 14 (Meeting point of all yang meridians, GV 14 is ind…), TH 15 (Local Point.) and UB 11 (Wind disorders. Hui-meeting point of the bones, …) are nearby.
