Hello
In regards to TCM , what effect would the removal of the Gallbladder have on ones organ balance for an adult male & would the Liver need more tonification due to this?
Also are there herbs to assist in the recovery?
Thank you
Rob.

This has been covered many times on this site previously. A couple relevant replies:
Now when you are asking about herbal medicine - that is a slightly different question because there you can be talking about helping the physical organ functions compensate for the loss of the physical gallbladder (or an attempt to keep the physical gallbladder). So in that case, yes, there is much that can be done but it needs to be tailored to the individual in most cases (see “how to choose a formula” and “treating the cause and not the symptoms” for more on that).
Before removal, in many cases, the formula li dan wan or “gallbladder relief pills” - possibly with other formulas combined tailored to the individual can quite often save the gallbladder function avoiding surgery. That and, of course, a whole range of dietary change - more leafy greens, broccoli, less fried/fatty/oily foods, less alcohol/sugar etc.
