KD 19 Acupuncture Point Applications and Theory

The acupuncture point "KD 19" , 陰都, is represented by "Yin Du" in pinyin and "Yin Metropolis" in english and may be found:

4 cun above CV 8, .5 cun lateral to CV 12.

Of many possible clinical applications, it may be considered to influence the following issues/symptoms:

  • Local point for abdominal and intestinal pain.
  • Vomiting, reflux, nausea, bloating - harmonizes stomach.
  • Fertility issues, primarily by moving blood stagnation in the lower warmer.

Kd 19 has the following theoretical associations which serve as important guideposts in designing an effective treatment protocol:

  • Intersection Point of the KD & Chong Mai Meridians

A single acupuncture point is not commonly thought of as an empirical way to influence a TCM diagnostic pattern. KD19, however, is a strong candidate to be incorporated into an acupuncture protocol for patients who exhibit: Stomach Rebellious Qi

KD 19 may potentially be used, in coordination with a well designed acupuncture treatment protocol, to influence the following conditions: Abdominal Pain, Acid Reflux Disease (GERD), Infertility, Nausea and/or Vomiting

While not necessarily valid clinically, CV 12 (CV 12 is useful for middle warmer issues, whereas…) and ST 21 (Tonifies Middle Warmer, assists CV 12. Epigastri…) are nearby.
