Bu Yang Huan Wu Tang Wan - Great Yang Restoration Pills

补阳还五汤丸

Clinical Usage

  • Fatigue, weakness, with pale complexion due to chronic qi and blood deficiency.
  • Hemiplegia, slurred speech or involuntary muscle control due to blockage of the channels and collaterals.

Clinician Notes

For blood stagnation and qi deficiency.  This formula is generally for chronic illness or chronic poor lifestyle.  The qi moves the blood, therefore a chronic qi deficiency almost always results in some degree of blood stagnation.  Additionally, when both qi and blood are weak there is a greatly chance than wind can invade and block the normal flow of the channels.  Unchecked wind can lead to numbness, shaking, spasms, and even paralysis due to its disruptive nature.
