GB 15 Acupuncture Point Applications and Theory

The acupuncture point "GB 15" , 頭臨泣, is represented by "Tou Lin Qi" in pinyin and "Head Overlooking Tears" in english and may be found:

On the head, directly above the pupil, .5 cun above the anterior hairline at the midpoint of a line connecting GV 24 to ST 8 (directly above GB 14).

Of many possible clinical applications, it may be considered to influence the following issues/symptoms:

  • Excessive tearing from internal or external wind effecting the eyes.
  • Sinus issues (with GV 23, Yintang a/or LI 20) - sinusitis, rhinitis

While not necessarily valid clinically, ST 8 (Classically mentioned for "splitting headache; he…), UB 3 (Local point for headaches, nasal obstruction. Ep…) and UB 4 (Local point for headache and/or nasal issues. He…) are nearby.
