GB 2 Acupuncture Point Applications and Theory

The acupuncture point "GB 2" , 聽會, is represented by "Ting Hui" in pinyin and "Auditory Convergence" in english and may be found:

Anterior to the intertragic notch at the posterior border of the condyloid process of the mandible (located with the mouth open).


Of many possible clinical applications, it may be considered to influence the following issues/symptoms:

  • Ear issues (along with TH 21 & SI 19) - tinnius, otitis media, deafness.
  • Eliminate wind locally - TMJ disorder, facial paralysis, trigeminal neuralgia, toothache

While not necessarily valid clinically, SI 19 (Ear problems of any etiology, inflammation, deafn…) and ST 7 (TMJ, facial pain, lower jaw toothache. Hearing i…) are nearby.
