GB 30 Acupuncture Point Applications and Theory

The acupuncture point "GB 30" , 環跳, is represented by "Huan Tiao" in pinyin and "Jumping Round" in english and may be found:

At the junction of the lateral 1/3 and medial 2/3 distance between the prominence of the greater trochanter and the hiatus of the sacrum (GV 2), (located with the patient in a lateral recumbent position with thigh flexed).

Of many possible clinical applications, it may be considered to influence the following issues/symptoms:

  • Sciatica, pain, numbness, atrophy of lower back, hip, buttocks a/or lower limbs.
  • Bi (painful obstruction) or Wei (flaccidity, weakness) of the leg.
  • Urticaria, red, itchy skin issues from wind

While not necessarily valid clinically, ST 31 (ST 31, ST 32 & ST 33 are all useful for Bi-Sy…) and UB 35 (Clears damp heat from the lower warmer - principl…) are nearby.
