GV 6 Acupuncture Point Applications and Theory

The acupuncture point "GV 6" , 脊中, is represented by "Ji Zhong" in pinyin and "Spinal Center" in english and may be found:

Of many possible clinical applications, it may be considered to influence the following issues/symptoms:

  • General and Local spine problems.
  • Adjusts the Spleen, reinforces UB 20, for loss of appetite, abdominal pain and fullness, diarrhea, jaundice, hemorrhoids.
  • Epilepsy, rectal prolapse in children (deadman).  

GV 6 has some precautions to be considered (see our precautions list).

Avoid Moxa (MX)

While not necessarily valid clinically, UB 20 (Main point for all Spleen problems from a TCM per…) are nearby.
