GV 28 Acupuncture Point Applications and Theory

The acupuncture point "GV 28" , 齦交, is represented by "Yin Jiao" in pinyin and "Gum Intersection" in english and may be found:

At the junction of the gum and the frenulum of the upper lip.

Of many possible clinical applications, it may be considered to influence the following issues/symptoms:

  • Pain a/or swelling of the gums, stiffness in the lips.
  • Nasal issues - polyps, congestion, pain.
  • Neck pain a/or stiffness with difficulty turning head.
  • Stronger psychological issues, particularly with symptoms of mania.  

GV 28 has some precautions to be considered (see our precautions list).
