The acupuncture point "GV 13" , 陶道, is represented by "Tao Dao" in pinyin and "Kiln Path" in english and may be found:

Of many possible clinical applications, it may be considered to influence the following issues/symptoms:

  • Special for steaming bone disorder or inflammatory diseases affecting the bones, chills and fever.
  • Important point for malaria.
  • Stiffness of the neck a/or spine, heavy head, headaches.  


Gv 13 has the following theoretical associations which serve as important guideposts in designing an effective treatment protocol:

  • Intersecting Point of the Governing Vessel & Urinary Bladder Vessels

While not necessarily valid clinically, SI 14 (Local point for shoulder and scapular region pain…) and UB 11 (Wind disorders. Hui-meeting point of the bones, …) are nearby.
