GV 25 Acupuncture Point Applications and Theory

The acupuncture point "GV 25" , 素髎, is represented by "Su Liao" in pinyin and "White Bone-Hole" in english and may be found:

On the tip of the nose.

Of many possible clinical applications, it may be considered to influence the following issues/symptoms:

  • Important point to restore or help maintain consciousness, for shock, loss of consciousness, to revive from drowning.
  • Rosacea, circulation issues in nose.
  • Nasal issues - rhinitis, polyps, discharge, inability or changes in olfactory sensations (smell).
  • May reduce alcohol intoxication (deadman).

GV 25 has some precautions to be considered (see our precautions list).

Avoid Moxa (MX)

While not necessarily valid clinically, LI 19 (Sinus congestion. Nasal polyps, sores. Noseblee…) and LI 20 (Loss of smell or taste, nasal discharge, any nose…) are nearby.
