EX Huatuojiaji at L1 Acupuncture Point Applications and Theory
The acupuncture point "EX Huatuojiaji at L1" , 華佗夾脊, is represented by "Huatuojiaji" in pinyin and "Sides of Spine at L1" in english and may be found:
.5 cun lateral to the lower border of the spinous processes of L1
Of many possible clinical applications, it may be considered to influence the following issues/symptoms:
- L1 innervates and influences the adrenal gland, the testis or the vagina areas. It is used for a range of hormonal issues including menstrual issues, PMS, fertility issues, sexual issues, etc.
- Used extensively within the Tam Healing System and Tong Ren Therapy. May be needled and used with tuina and/or tonren therapy.
EX Huatuojiaji at L1 may potentially be used, in coordination with a well designed acupuncture treatment protocol, to influence the following conditions: Amenorrhea (Absence of Menstruation), Dysmenorrhea (Menstrual Pain - Cramps), Infertility, Menorrhagia (Heavy Menstrual Bleeding), Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) and/or Testicular Cancer
While not necessarily valid clinically, UB 22 (As Triple Heater Shu this point effects condition…) and UB 51 (Local Point.) are nearby.
