EX Huatuojiaji at L3 Acupuncture Point Applications and Theory
The acupuncture point "EX Huatuojiaji at L3" , 華佗夾脊, is represented by "Huatuojiaji" in pinyin and "Sides of Spine at L3" in english and may be found:
.5 cun lateral to the lower border of the spinous processes of L3
Of many possible clinical applications, it may be considered to influence the following issues/symptoms:
- L3 innverates the prostate in men and the ovaries in women. In women, then, this point may help with a range of ovarian issues - cancer, fertility and/or menstrual issues, cysts, etc. In men this point can be very helpful for prostate problems and fertility issues. For both it may be used for early morning diarrhea or constipation as well as a range of sexual issues.
- Used extensively within the Tam Healing System and Tong Ren Therapy. May be needled and used with tuina and/or tonren therapy.
EX Huatuojiaji at L3 may potentially be used, in coordination with a well designed acupuncture treatment protocol, to influence the following conditions: Constipation, Diarrhea, Infertility, Ovarian Cancer, Prostate Issues (BPH) and/or Prostatitis
While not necessarily valid clinically, UB 24 (Generally used as a local point for back pain. G…) are nearby.
