EX Huatuojiaji at T1 Acupuncture Point Applications and Theory

The acupuncture point "EX Huatuojiaji at T1" , 華佗夾脊, is represented by "Huatuojiaji" in pinyin and "Sides of Spine at T1" in english and may be found:

.5 cun lateral to the lower border of the spinous processes of T1

Of many possible clinical applications, it may be considered to influence the following issues/symptoms:

  • T1 innervates the windpipe and affects the bone marrow, used for a range of lung and immune issues (with T2 and T3), a range of neck issues, releasing exterior heat (colds/flus/fever), neck and shoulder problems.  T1, T2 and T3 are used for a range of immune and autoimmune conditions within the tam healing system.
  • Used extensively within the Tam Healing System and Tong Ren Therapy. May be needled and used with tuina and/or tonren therapy.

EX Huatuojiaji at T1 may potentially be used, in coordination with a well designed acupuncture treatment protocol, to influence the following conditions: Asthma, Cancer, Common Cold, Fever and/or Neck Pain

While not necessarily valid clinically, SI 13 (Local point for shoulder and/or scapular region p…) and UB 11 (Wind disorders. Hui-meeting point of the bones, …) are nearby.
