EX Baxie Acupuncture Point Applications and Theory

The acupuncture point "EX Baxie" , 八邪, is represented by "Baxie" in pinyin and "Eight Ghosts" in english and may be found:

On the dorsum of the hand, at the webs between each finger, at the junction of the red & white skin.

Of many possible clinical applications, it may be considered to influence the following issues/symptoms:

  • Issues of the hand - pain, spasm, numbness.
  • Mentioned in the Ling Shu for malaria

While not necessarily valid clinically, LI 2 (Shown to increase saliva production and to effect…), LI 3 (Expel wind and heat particularly from the throat,…) and SI 2 (Local point for pain, swelling, numbness of the f…) are nearby.
