The acupuncture point "EX Huatuojiaji at S1" , 華佗夾脊, is represented by "Huatuojiaji" in pinyin and "Sides of Spine at S1" in english and may be found:
In the area around the 1st sacral foramen, UB 31
Of many possible clinical applications, it may be considered to influence the following issues/symptoms:
- S1 influences the ureter and is used along with S2 and S3 for a range of menstrual issues, fertility issues, PMS, etc. May be useful for low back pain.
- Used extensively within the Tam Healing System and Tong Ren Therapy. May be needled and used with tuina and/or tonren therapy.
EX Huatuojiaji at S1 may potentially be used, in coordination with a well designed acupuncture treatment protocol, to influence the following conditions: Back Pain, Infertility, Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) and/or Uterine Bleeding
While not necessarily valid clinically, UB 27 (Main point for all Small Intestine related issues…) and UB 31 (UB 31, UB 32, UB 33 & UB 34 together form the…) are nearby.
